Product Review: AUSTRALIS Full On Foundation

Australis "Full On" Foundation is the brands recent full coverage foundation.
It retails for $12.95AUD and comes in 6 different shades - which is a set back considering I had to get the darkest shade and we know there are a lot of deeper skin tones out there.
On the Australis website (CLICK HERE) they say that the "long lasting" foundation is a "strong coverage" product which moisturizes and hydrates the skin, all the while it also absorbs excess oils and "maintains a natural complexion". Let's review this shall we?

PACKAGING
  • Stick Foundation - Very convenient in terms of control of how much product is used - less product wastage
  • Wind Up Packaging
  • Contains 15g of product
  • Over all I enjoy the packaging, I love wind up, stick foundations because it's so convenient, sleek and travel friendly.

TRIAL

BEFORE APPLICATION
(freshly washed and moisturized face)

AFTER ONE LAYER OF APPLICATION
(No primers, concealers or powders were used)
What I noticed after initial application:
  • Smooth to apply and glide straight from the stick onto my face
  • Creamy and easy to blend
  • One layer concealed my redness, faded the appearance of my freckles along my nose, and concealed the darkness under my eyes.
  • No streak marks when applying
  • Sets very quickly
 TRANSFER TEST
After the foundation had set I used a tissue to lightly dab my face to see if it transfers at all - slightly transfers, nothing too dramatic.

AFTER APPLICATION OF THE REST OF MY MAKEUP
I wanted to see how the product would work after setting it with a powder vs. no powder used.
The LEFT side of my face is lightly set with powder while the right side is not.

AFTER 4 HOURS OF INITIAL APPLICATION
WHAT I STARTED TO NOTICE:
  • Right Side (no powder) is showing signs of oiliness along my fourhead
  • Coverage is still fully in tact
  • Did not darken or change in colour - which happens a lot with foundations.
  • No signs of creasing or "cracking" anywhere on the face
  • Under eye circles still remain concealed

8 HOURS AFTER INITIAL APPLICATION
 WHAT I'VE STARTED TO NOTICE:
  • Both sides have now become equally oily - but still has not creased!
  • Fading along my chin and nose
  • Coverage is still in tact under my eyes, along my cheeks and four head
FINAL THOUGHTS:
COVERAGE - Medium to full coverage - very happy with the coverage it gave me after just one layer, no need for concealer! I do also recommend setting it with some sort of mattifying powder if you do have oily/combination skin like I do.

CONSISTENCY - Very smooth and creamy - LOVE! So comfortable on the skin and does not feel heavy.

PACKAGING - Very sleek and compact, a bit meh with the font and labelling, but it's Australis' usual product look.

LASTING POWER - I am very happy with the way it lasted on my face for the first 4-5 hours. I would highly recommend retouching or powdering your face through out the day if you are going for full coverage for a whole 8 hours or more.
