Party Planning DIY - Cupcake Toppers
My little man is turning 1! Ya'll know what that means?! Party planning time!
If you know me, you know I am very particular when it comes to my children's birthday parties, everything has to be customised and personalised - drives the Mr nuts!
And you all know that saying, if you want it done right - you gotsta Do-It-Yourself.
So on today's blog post I have documented my recent Party Planning DIY and decided to share it with you all - DIY Cupcake Toppers.
Such a fun little element to add some jazz to your cake table. And who are we kidding? We could have the most horrible looking cupcakes, but as soon as you add that cake topper ... GAME CHANGE!
For This DIY You Will:
- Print outs of your designed picture - since my son is having a "Thomas And Friends" themed party I ran along with that. I sized the design in the dimensions of about 3cmx3cm
- Coloured Papers/Cardboard
- Double Sided Tape
- Tooth picks
- Scissors
- Stick Tape
1. Cut out your designs. This is the perfect time to sit down on the couch and watch a show, in my case... Orange Is The New Black.
2. Using your double sided tape, tape down each designs onto your chosen coloured paper/cardboard.
When doing this make sure you leave enough space between each design for cutting out later - I left about a 1cm gap between each design.
3. Resume by cutting out the designs once again leaving a little outline between your designed picture and the coloured paper/cardboard. This creates a lot more dimension and interest - you really want that coloured paper/cardboard to be shown.
4. Using your sticky tape, tape a tooth pick to the back of each design.
There you have it, your own customised cup cake toppers, no need to spend $$$ on getting someone else to make them when you can make them yourself. Save that money on getting more food for the guests! hehe!
Thanks for reading guys, I hope you all enjoyed this episode and get creative!
